Both 6th classes visited the army barracks in Rathmines this week. We took the bus over and went on a tour of the barracks where we learned all about Michael Collins and the 1916 rising. We saw many original articles, uniforms, weapons and cells used during this time. After that we met current soldiers who told us about their role in the army. We saw the weapons they use, the trucks they travel in and the tanks used by them. We had a great day out!
