Today we held a non-uniform day fundraiser for Mr. Lavin who is off to Kenya next week with the GPA. He is taking part in Plant the Planet Games in aid of the charity Self Help Africa. He will spend a week in Kenya along with 50 other GAA players where the aim is to plant trees for local families. Each tree that is planted will represent a livelihood for an African family. An integral part of the project is to train farmers on managing their trees for this purpose. As a result, it is known that the trees are looked after and cared for over the years.
Thanks to everybody who donated and all funds raised go directly to this great cause.
